18 Apr, 2024 | News

In the field of business support, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini is committed to connecting innovation systems. In this context, the organisation participates as a partner in the project Consolidating deep and inclusive social innovation ecosystems (Consolid8), a European Union initiative funded through Horizon Europe that was created to strengthen the integration of social innovation actors within the innovation networks of 15 European countries. The partners within this ambitious project are: Grupul de Consultanta Pentru Dezvoltare (Romania), Unitatea Executiva Pentru Finantarea Invatamantului Superior A Cercetarii Dezvoltarii Si Inovarii (Romania), Kollektiva ( Greece), Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini SRL SB (Italy), Deep Ecosystems 500 (Germany), YourY Network (Ireland), Center Vesoljskih Tehnologij Hermana Potocnika Noordunga (Slovenia), Comune di Brasov (Romania).

As an accelerator of social innovation ecosystems, Consolid8 provides strategic support and mentorship to a dozen ecosystem-building initiatives between 2023 and 2025. The project’s objectives include improving the connectivity of social innovation actors from 15 ecosystems, expanding access to funding alternatives for social innovators in 5 ecosystems and testing social innovation models with potential for scalability and replicability.

Specifically, the project developed 5 capacity building programmes, in Ireland, Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Romania, aimed at target groups. In the Italian programme, through Fondazione Brodolini, capacity building included:

  • A call in 3 cities to gather innovative ideas to address some current societal challenges, and the organisation of hackathons to develop and further define them.
  • 3 online workshops for social enterprises on funding channels and sources for social businesses.
  • The development of a directory of alternative sources of finance for social innovation and a toolkit on impact finance for social enterprises.

Through these actions, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini is contributing to the integration of the Italian social innovation ecosystem into the European innovation ecosystem, promoting training sessions and the acquisition of new skills, and fostering the development of innovative ideas.
